git sparse-checkout (set <folder>... | disable)

What it does

Shows only some folders of a big repo in your working folder.

When to use it

In a huge repo where you only work in one part.

Example

$ git sparse-checkout set docs

Show only the docs folder (and files at the top).

$ git sparse-checkout disable

Show every folder again.
